Obedience Brings Blessing . . . Disobedience Brings Curse . . .
Thank you ..., you have been so much more than a friend.
As I studied Genesis, I kinda saw my life as a softer more gentile version of Joseph. I didn't have his heart for God, but I am getting there. My years of under-employment, after the money I made in the mortgage business, akin to Josephs time in slavery and jail.
I make no allusion to my life as Josephs in jail; but the experience of loss of financial freedom to his physical freedom. I learned to trust God completely.
He has saved me from foreclosure twice. He had been on me to take over the finances of our home, but I didnt want to. After I did, and started a budget, things like this job, started to change.
Obedience brings blessing, disobedience brings curse. Im done with curse for a while. - Anonymous August 2013

Now it's our turn to help others!
"I would like to share a story of how Christ's Church came alongside us to help in our time of need. We were married for about 2 years and had 3 kids under the age of 2. We had a single income and were not able to meet our bills or even buy food. We were far below the poverty level but since we were earning some money we did not qualify for any government help.
There were several occasions that we would be wondering how we were going to be able to feed our kids when our Pastor, Ken Pugh of First Baptist Church Louisville, OH, would ring our door bell. When we opened the door he would be standing there with a big grin on his face and two bags stuffed full of food for us. He would always say the same thing, "I was driving by and saw these bags sitting on your porch and thought you might be able to use them". We would always be on the verge of tears when God provided this food for us.
Since then God has blessed us and now it is our turn to help others." ... Anonymous Church on the Rock Member

There is 'Life' after Financial Ruin
"God is good. He knew exactly what we needed to get our attention focused on Him.
We had a great business and were very generous towards others as we coaxed through life. With real estate holdings, a great job and the ability to travel wherever we wanted we thought life was great.
Then the real estate market turned. It turned fast! We were stuck with a real estate related business, debt on our business and investment properties and couldn't get out from under them quick enough. We used up our savings until we couldn't pay our mortgage. We had never been late on anything before until now. It felt demoralizing and was embarrassing to go through this.
We didn't want to accept reality but we were faced with the facts and could no longer avoid them. We quickly realized that life wasn't about us but all about God and a personal relationship with Him. We had to rely on and find hope in the one who, according to Psalm 139, knows our life from when we were in our mother's womb to the day he takes us home and EVERYTHING in between. Praise God that he opened our eyes to what was really important in this life.
If this financial tragedy hadn't happened our marriage wouldn't be as strong as it is and our kids wouldn't have learned what it means to go without. We now have real empathy towards others and see compassion and ministry in a whole new way.
There is life after financial ruin. We have learned to let go of the 'stuff' of this earth and to look forward to the treasures that await us for eternity." . . . Anonymous Church on the Rock Member
